The Cerrado domain in central Brazil harbors high biodiversity and a high degree of endemism on its inland waters. This review aimed to carry out of new cladoceran ocurrences in these waters and to verify current trends in the theme. The research was carried out on literature searches (2008-2018). This study obtained 26 new registers and the majority are exclusive occurrence in determined area. Chydoridae are dominant within the new registers and reflects the environmental heterogeneity of the Cerrado's inland waters and the functional role of this family. The taxonomic studies were necessary to obtain more accurate results in biodiversity and ecological analyses of Cladocera. Based on the potential of these new registers to be indicators of pristine and endemic areas, this review allows the recognition of the geographic distribution of the group and also contributed to reduce sampling gaps. From these records in these areas, subsidies are generated for more effective protection of water sources in areas of watershed divisions and more vulnerable to human alterations in the central Brazilian Cerrado.Downloads
