Access to information on Brazilian biodiversity has been intensified in recent years by public actions that have promoted the computerization of scientific collections, the integration of databases from different institutions in the country in international systems and the greater availability of knowledge produced in Brazilian institutions from the aggregation of scientific content in digital repositories. This case study focuses on the analysis of Cerrado visibility and visuality in this emerging informational framework in parallel to the proposition of the Cerrado Digital Library (BDC), in dspace. BDC, as a local instrument for managing environmental information, aims at valuing, systematizing and facilitating access to digital documentary content. This service prioritizes the development of collections of visual records, resulting from research activities and monitoring of protected areas. The relationship between the visibility of the Cerrado and the visuality in information infrastructures focused on scientific content is historically considered in the time frames that determine the occupation of the biome.
