Peer-review process
Manuscripts submitted to Heringeriana will be evaluated by the Editorial Board considering its relevance, originality, adequacy to the scope and norms of the Journal. After the initial evaluation, the manuscript will be forwarded to at least two specialists, preferably with a doctorate in the area addressed, who will evaluate the manuscript. The manuscript will be accepted if both reviewers provide favorable opinions for publication.
The editor asks reviewers to turn in the review within one month. However, the review process may take longer depending on the size of the manuscript and the reviewers' responses.
When the opinion is favorable, after the review process, which includes the incorporation of corrections and suggestions from the reviewers to the manuscript, the editor checks the corrections and finalizes the manuscript. The corresponding author will receive an electronic proof, sent via email, for approval.
After publication, the works will be available in PDF format on the journal's website and in other databases in the future.
Double-blind peer-review
Heringeriana adopts double-blind peer review, neither authors nor reviewers know each other's names.

Journal history
Heringeriana is the scientific journal of the Jardim Botânico de Brasília that publishes, every six months, original scientific articles, taxonomic monographs, annotated checklists, scientific notes and opinions in several areas of biodiversity. Published since 1994, initially as "Boletim do Herbário Ezechias Paulo Heringer" and, from 2007, as Revista Heringeriana.
The journals name is a tribute to Ezechias Paulo Heringer, a pioneer botanist in the Federal District who, in addition to proposing the creation of the Brasília National Park, helped in the implementation of the Brasília Zoo and Botanical Park, in the creation of the Águas Emendadas Biological Reserve, Experimental Station of Agriculture Cabeça-de-Veado, Parque do Gama and Parque do Guará, which today is called Ezechias Paulo Heringer Ecological Park. Due to his collection efforts, he was also named after 35 new species.
